Beautiful Things

All products on this site are designed and created by Mary Keating.  Many are one of a kind and include recycled and upcycled materials.

Style & Quality

Mary has been an artist and seamstress all of her life.  Her designs are inspired by her recycled materials and her eye for color and patterns.  She continuously evolves her products season after season at the Laguna Beach Sawdust Festival based on input from her loyal customer base.

Vintage buttons and hand made lace rescued from tired tea towels are brought to life in the elegant little girl's dresses. Seasonless styles can be worn year round by adding a turtle neck and tights in colder weather.  Adjustable straps allow for growing girls to wear their favorite dress for more than one year or season.

100% Handmade

All products are handmade by Mary Keating in Laguna Beach, California, USA.

  1. Aprons and dresses are made with recycled fabric and trims.
  2. Little girl's aprons sometimes include non- handmade accessories like metal cookie cuters and wooden utensils and crayons.
  3. All products are designed to be easy to care for and wash and can and should become treasured hand-me-downs.

When my first friend to have a baby had her shower I gave her one of my mom’s hand knit baby sweaters. It was such a hit, I decided this was the ONLY gift I would bring to a shower. 18 years later I have given over 45 of my mom’s beautiful fisherman knit sweaters as presents . Without fail it’s the present that gets the most “oohs and aahs” every time. It becomes an instant heirloom that gets passed down to siblings and cousins. There’s just something so appealing about a baby in a big cozy hand knit sweater.
